Introduction

Every Hero NFT in DeFi Kingdom has its own set of Growth Stats that determine how likely it is for that hero to improve their stats during the Level Up process. There is an absolute minimum your Hero’s Growth Stats will be, and that will be determined primarily by the Class and Subclass of your Hero, as seen here:

Where ‘Thief’ is the Main Class and ‘Wizard’ is the Subclass

Base Growth Stats

The Base Growth Stats that you get for each Class and Subclass can be found below.

In addition to that, a Blue or Purple Stat on the rear of the card indicates a +2% increase for the Primary Growth Stat and a +4% increase to the Secondary Growth Stats. There is a Blue or a Purple (a combination of both the Blue and Green bonus on a single Stat) on every Hero NFT card.

The Level of the Summoning Parents will also influence the starting Growth Stats. Every 5 levels, a Parent can use an additional 10 Gaia’s Tears. There’s a formula for it (click here) further down the page, but it’s essentially two out of every three multiples of 5 for the Parent’s Level, starting at Level 10, will have an affect on the Growth Stats.

You can also improve the permanent Growth Stats of your hero at the point of summoning by using an Enhancement Stone. The exact value of the bonuses will depend on the Enhancement Stone being used, as seen in this diagram:

Future Improvements to Growth Stats

Every time a Hero levels up, it can use an Attunement Crystal which temporarily increases Growth Stats for the duration of that Leveling process only. See the above graphic for details as to these temporary bonuses.

As a possible future permanent boost to Growth Stats, the Greater Atonement Crystal provides the following bonuses:

The Greater Atonement Crystal is used while leveling up and only one may be used per hero. It provides a +1 bonus to two different random stats, and +1% to the primary growth values and +2% to the secondary growth values of those two selected stats.

The Greater Atonement Crystal is a corrective items only – they were added to the game in order to compensate for heroes that didn’t have the aforementioned Gaia’s Tears bonuses correctly applied during the summoning process. A small number were dropped initially, but expect 70-100k to be added to the game once the list of heroes affected has been finished. Only one Greater Atonement Crystal can be used per Hero and doesn’t affect the application of a Lesser or Standard Atonement Crystal.

Order of Heroes

The order of the Heroes featured below might seem random, but are in keeping with the DFK Hero Class Tree, as demonstrated here by Albus:

The reason these Heroes are paired off like this has to do with Summoning, which I’ll cover on another page. It is for this reason though that the Hero NFTs are often ordered as follows, and not just alphabetical.

Gaia’s Tear Formula for Stat Growth in Summoning

(click here to return to the Base Growth Stats section)

The bonuses loop through the following pattern with each increased step in +10 tears paid per summoning Hero:

1. (1 + loopCount) to stat matching highest stat of summoning Hero

2. +(1 + loopCount)% to primary stat growth rate of stat matching the highest stat of summoning Hero

3. +(2 + loopCount)% to secondary stat growth rate of stat matching the highest stat of summoning Hero

4. +(1 + loopCount) to stat matching second highest stat of summoning Hero

5. +(1 + loopCount)% to primary stat growth rate of stat matching the second highest stat of summoning Hero

6. +(2 + loopCount)% to secondary stat growth rate of stat matching the second highest stat of summoning Hero

7. +(1 + loopCount) to stat matching third highest stat of summoning Hero

8. +(1 + loopCount)% to primary stat growth rate of stat matching the third highest stat of summoning Hero

9. +(2 + loopCount)% to secondary stat growth rate of stat matching the third highest stat of summoning Hero

In these formulas, loopCount indicates the number of times the bonuses have looped back to step 1 (this happens at +100 and +190 tears added). So the second time around, on step 1 the bonus would be +2 added to the stat matching the highest stat of the summoning Hero, and so on.

Examples: LVL30 Wizard (highest stats INT, WIS, and LCK) pays 70 Gaiaโ€™s Tears (base 10 + 60 for 6 steps of 5 levels) Summoned Hero receives +1 to INT and WIS, +1% primary stat growth to INT and WIS, and +2% secondary stat growth to INT and WIS

LVL100 Wizard (highest stats INT, WIS, and LCK) pays 210 Gaiaโ€™s Tears (base 10 + 200 for 20 steps of 5 levels) Summoned Hero receives +6 to INT, +3 WIS, and +3 LCK, +6% primary stat growth to INT, +3% to WIS, and 3% to LCK, and +5% secondary stat growth to INT, WIS, and LCK
